Art emerges from an intimate dialogue with the land.

Daniela Plascencia, born in 1993 in the Yaqui Valley, is a visual artist inspired by the Sonoran wilderness. Her work involves collecting clay and artifacts, and transforming them into sculptures that reinterpret an archaeological abstraction of the desert's organic and geometric shapes. Influenced by over five years of immersion in local cultures, her art explores the relationship between humans and the Sonoran Desert. Daniela completed her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts at Universidad de Sonora, in Hermosillo, Mexico and furthered her studies at international academies such as Lorenzo Di Medici in Florence and the New York Academy of Arts. She has also participated in artistic residencies in Guadalajara, Oaxaca, and Mexico City.
